Meet Dr. Lyons, MD at Dream Trim Clinic in Florence KY, on 6900 Houston Road

Doctor Lyons was born and raised in Kentucky. He went to Morehead State University where he got a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He graduated from Morehead State University, again, with a Masters degree in biology. In 2001, Dr. Lyons graduated from the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. He did a one-year traditional rotating internship at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.  After this, he did two years of residency training at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.  

Doctor Lyons did buprenorphine training and has enjoyed working in addiction medicine, for several years.  He opened his solo practice, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, in 2005.  He has, also, spent some time working in Barnesville, Ohio, and Freeport, Ohio.  

Doctor Lyons is a member of many professional associations and other associations pertaining to his interests.  He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Southern Medical Association, the International High IQ Association, and many others. Dr. Lyons is a question writer for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine board exam.

Dr. Lyons has treated obesity and had an interest in healthy weight loss for many years. He believes that being in a medical specialty where he treats cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, hormonal disorders, and more, helps to keep him watchful for aspects of obesity that some other specialties might not have as much exposure to.  Also, being a family doctor means that he has experience with medications from many specialties.
